Transform Web Snippets & Screen Grabs into Real Cells

Often the data you need is trapped inside a web dashboard that disables CSV exports, or in a screenshot shared over Slack or email. Retyping dozens of numbers manually is slow and error-prone.

GridExtract lets you paste or drag any image snippet directly onto our canvas. Our optical matrix engine identifies the bounding boxes of every cell, reconstructs table headers, and formats the output as clean tab-delimited values (TSV) ready to be pasted directly into Excel or Google Sheets with Cmd+V.

Image to Excel Table FAQs

Can I paste screenshots from my clipboard directly into GridExtract?
Yes. You can take a screenshot of any web dashboard, trading chart, or desktop application, copy it to your clipboard, and paste it directly into the workbench using Cmd+V or Ctrl+V.
What image formats are supported for table extraction?
We support PNG, JPEG, JPG, WEBP, and single-layer TIFF images up to 35 MB in size.
How does the tool handle smartphone photos of paper documents with shadows?
Our image ingestion pipeline automatically applies non-uniform illumination correction. Shadows cast across paper documents by phones or desk lamps are equalized so that characters remain legible to the OCR engine.
Can I extract small data tables clipped from online dashboards?
Yes. Even small snippets of 2 to 5 columns from SaaS analytics dashboards, ERP portals, or Bloomberg terminals can be clipped, uploaded, and converted into structured spreadsheet rows in seconds.
How does GridExtract determine column types from images?
Our semantic analyzer scans values across each detected column. Columns consisting primarily of numbers are formatted with right-alignment and numeric typing; text columns remain left-aligned.
Is there any quality degradation when converting images to CSV?
No. CSV is raw plain text; every number, decimal place, and character string detected in the image is encoded accurately into UTF-8 comma-separated rows.
